(10) childhood memory :: OK, am I the only one that thought this was next to impossible? I have a zillion childhood memories, most of which I cannot think how to photograph now … It did get me digging into the memory archives and I decided to go with my first memory. Apparently I was four, it was June 18, 1977 and Elvis was on stage at Kansas City’s Kemper Arena. My mother, a huge Elvis fan, went to see him and left me at home with my father for the night. I don’t remember a whole lot, but I remember that he fixed me a TV dinner, likely my first. It was just two months later that Elivs died and I remember my mother was sad.

Why on earth would this be my oldest memory? Who the heck knows … but Elvis was always in the house. I remember my parents had a HUGE record collection (that they later sold and bought a truck!), and tons of Elvis memorabilia. He was damn good lookin’ in his younger years … pre rhinestone jumpsuit era. *wink*
